This website has been set up as an accompanier of the Treffers family book that has come out on September 23, 2000. This book describes the genealogy of the Treffers family from approx. 1525 until 2000.

All people in the world with the surname Treffers originate from one family that lived in the Waalwijk region, in the south of the Netherlands. The oldest forefather, whose name was Jacob Cuypers, was born circa 1525 in Waalwijk.

As of 1971, a quarterly magazine has been published, named Het Treffertje, with all kinds of information about Treffers family members, e.g. births, marriages, deaths and historical and recent stories.

In 1981 the Treffers family organization was established and in 1983 the family emblem was officially registered. The family organization regularly organizes reunions in The Netherlands that are visited by many Treffers family members.

With this website we hope to get in touch with Treffers family members all over the world. Please let us know what has become of those who left The Netherlands!
